What I'm wondering is where all this sudden support is coming from. I'm not going to pressume that any cheating is going on, but it's sort of wierd that MH has started opening his lead up so quickly in the last bit.

I did call that he would start a massive gain at about 3 EST actually. It's the after-school vote. Master Hand and Master Chief enjoy many similar benefits:

A) Mainstream appeal.
B) "Master" in their name.
C) My supporting them.

God, MH is monstrous in the day time...he's picking up 70-80 votes every 5 minute update...cn's updater looks insane right now.

You know, I still think that Kuja>Sin. MH could quite easily be iconic for SSBM, and it wouldnt be that surprising to me - pretty much anyone who has played the game would recognize him, and he is more or less unique to that game as well. That would explain why DK and such dont seem to get quite as huge of a boost - MH is much more representative of SSBM, and would get the support from it where DK wouldnt. Even the people who dont like/use DK still run into MH while playing SSBM.

Plus, I would love to see a person i didnt expect to get out of the first round make it to the elite eight.

A very good paraphrase of what my argument's been all along, except I think Sin > Kuja. Even though the game is loved for its multi-player, there is no way people just ignore the single-player like so many have mentioned before. Most of the secret characters involve you going through the single player, which usually involves Master Hand. Ness was a secret character in SSB (where I think you had to beat Master Hand with everyone before you got him...not sure) and nothing special in SSBM, while Master Hand was both unique and fun to fight at the end (though the fun part's debatable, probably).

Even the people who dont like/use DK still run into MH while playing SSBM.

Also what I said, which now makes M. Bison look better against Diablo.


With all of this said, I don't think MH > Ness or DK.

i am extremely pissed off because (as i said before), i was behind Master Hand, but changed it to Kuja after flashbacks of how Master Cheif bit me in the rear by 7 votes. then, when i decided to change it back to Master Hand on the last day, my internet went down for the entire afternoon/evening and i was unable to change my bracket........

If you really want to see if there is cheating going on, have someone do a poll on the IGN FF board to see who has voted. Unless this really is a mass after school vote.

I'll decide after I see some graphs... Right now I think there might be a bit of cheating but I usually am not home for close matches at this time, so I don't know how fast votes pour in.

Who cheats to this degree in a first-round match though, especially when MH was slowly but surely building a lead before this? It just so happens that the cheated started a lil' after the after-school votes came in, which we had already figured would go to MH anyways. GREAT timing to accuse the glove of cheating then.
