Spring Contest 2k5 Score X Potential: 9/9 X 80/80

No way. If we assume that CATS always gets in the same general range (11k in 2k2, 14k in the always impressive 2k3 and 10k in 2k4) and that votes won't drop off due to a boring match or increase to to a strong opponent Ansem is still going to come out looking like a fool. Today should prove that if nobody cares then nobody votes, and CATS will likely get his usual 10-11K (and thensome, just on principal of Ansem not being as impressive as CATS's other 3 opponents) and Ansem will get whatever remains of those who care (we'll say 52k ish, since peopel really won't care). Then Ansem will turn around and get whatever he deserves on Ganon while CATS gets a "boost" due to the general indifference of the first match making it closer than it would be if anybody cared.

The poll is currently ranked 24th for least number of total votes. It has a good chance at passing 61142 to become 25th place but is very unlikely to pass 61706 to become 26th. For the first time in over 1000 days(would have been exactly 1000 if the contest started on the 1st) we'll have a new entry on the Top 25 least popular polls by vote total.

What...? If CATS hits his mythical "wall" of around 12K votes, he'll end up looking vastly more pathetic than he ever did, because Ansem is assuredly much weaker than anyone else he's faced.

The proportionate difference in vote totals won't make as much difference for his extrapolated ranking as the difference in strength between Ansem and stronger opponents.

That match will dispell all thoughts of this wall though. Ansem simply won't be strong enough to hold CATS to so little votes.

Score-Brackets-% Right
9------3366-----57.7243018
8------6160-----54.8376623
7------6863-----55.7190733
6------4799-----55.8658054
5------2299-----57.5467595
4------865------56.8786127
3------208------57.2115385
2------63-------61.9047619
1------49-------42.8571429
0------76-------21.0526316

Except for the 0's all groups did equally poorly. Oddly enough the 2's had the highest prediction rate and a lot of those should be attempted 0's.

13 people fell off the top 50 today. Divine_Majin, Dark_Kage, DpObliVion, KingofSweden, SpikeSetsFire, hanzibar, Fetus4188, XRockX, hwat123, Solecism, Silverwarp, Venom5000 and pastaman44 did not have Wesker beating Luca. A 74% prediction percentage is still pretty good relatively speaking, it was the first seeding upset afterall.

People shouldn't be overly surprsied at this. Everyone knows M. Bison (except for this Inviso fellow, apparently).

No need to get all worried about Bison vs. Diablo/Ridley--there was always reason to be concerned about that match.

This result doesn't say much about Bison though that we didn't already know.

BTW, I will again say that I am dubious about how certain people are that Akuma>Bison. Akuma was not around during the only time that people truly cared about SF2.
