Say it with me one more time:

Pictures don't matter.

Only Kefka fans care about the Kefka sprite.

I don't mind the first battle pic they used, but come on, Kefka's sprite is the best sprite in the game!

Who in their right mind would vote for the Lettuce Kefka pic if they already weren't a Kefka fan? At least the sprite gives him a LITTLE more appeal...

It's certainly not a big factor, but if I didn't like tryin' to vote fast in the mornings (and ultimately never get the first vote), I don't know if I could have voted for such an ugly pic of Kefka, thus why I bothered to mention it.

I still seriously think the completely unrecognizable non-Ninja pics hurt Ryu Hayabusa measurably. Though I can see where someone who dismisses this was coming from.

I would think Kefka's sprite would help him out a lot more than any Amano art or FMV from the PlayStation version. It certainly cannot hurt him at all; it could only help.

Well, Wesker's losing the night vote, as I expected. Not even getting 60% on Luca Blight is awful. Oh, and to compare his total to Nemesis at this same time:

Wesker - 33783
Nemesis - 32161

Wesker has actually LOST ground to Nemesis lately.

Your friend is a jail-baiter, eh?

I don't think I'd take either of them to beat Ansem. Sora would have to triple Ansem for him to be weak enough to lose to Luca. It's possible, but I don't think it would happen.

Outback’s Analysis

Round 1, FIGHT!

This is one of the more talked about matches in Round 1, close behind Ridley/Diablo and Robotnik/Sin. Looking at this match, I don't see Albedo being anywhere near KOS-MOS, and while I wouldn't place Bison anywhere near Ryu or even Ken, I'd still give him enough strength to beat somebody as obscure as Albedo.

Bison 59.92 Albedo 40.08

Inviso’s Analysis

Well, at first I went into this match thinking, “Heh, I’ve never even heard of either character before, but Albedo is 3D, and from Xenosaga…how can he lose?” But after some time, I thought about my choice, really thought about it, and changed my option. This is the only first round match I’m not really sure about. Albedo is from Xenosaga, a popular game by many standards. Bison is from Street Fighter, the only fighting game on this site that gets any respect.

Now, we really have only two things to judge this match by. One is the recent Summer Contest match between 8 seed KOS-MOS (most popular character in Xenosaga) and 9 seed Ryu (most popular character in Street Fighter). In this match, KOS-MOS was expected to win, and was beaten before Ryu went on to lose respectably to Sonic the Hedgehog. And also, Street Fighter has not only had Ryu, but also Ken Masters, in the contests. Xenosaga only has KOS-MOS. Now, M. Bison is a playable character, and even though he’s obscure, so is Albedo, and KOS-MOS is the only character with any fanbase from Xenosaga. But maybe I’m overestimating Street Fighter; it did lose to Super Mario RPG after all.

My Prediction: M. Bison with 54.97%

Ruin Division: Round 1 - Match 11 – (3)Albedo vs. (6)M. Bison

Moltar’s Analysis

Albedo
Game/Series Known From: Xenosaga Series

Never played Xenosaga, but I knew of KOS-MOS, but not this guy.

M. Bison
Game/Series Known From: Street Fighter series

No Ryu or Ken, so we look towards the next best think, Bison.

On our next stop through the Ruin Division, we have Albedo vs. M. Bison. Please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, this could be dangerous.

Albedo is from Xenosaga, a huge cult favorite. It also gets some love at GameFAQs. M. Bison hails from the Street Fighter franchise. Now this is big just about everywhere, including GameFAQs. Sure, it can’t be SMRPG, but I would bet that it could beat Xenosaga. SF just has an outstanding fanbase, while Xenosaga’s yet decent, just can’t compare.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=1743

NOBODY EXPECTS THE RYU/KOS-MOS POLL FROM SC2K4! Well, you should have expected it. I mean, come on, this match is just like Part 2, except Ryu = Bison and KOS-MOS = Albedo. Even Albedo has the higher seed, just like KOS-MOS did. We all know who won that match too….foreshadowing, perhaps? Street Fighter is bigger than Xenosaga, Ryu is better than KOS-MOS…but wait. What about Ken? He might have missed the ’04 Contest, but in 2003, he wasn’t too far behind KOS-MOS…hmmm.

Ok, the smart pick here is to go for the upset. We all know Bison won’t be as strong as Ryu, but Albedo also won’t be as strong as KOS-MOS. If Ryu can whoop KOS-MOS, and Ken can get close, Bison should be able to take Albedo with little trouble.

Wow…two upsets so far in 1 division. In only Round 1 too. Who knows what’s in store for the rest of the Rounds here, and what’s in store for the most hyped match of Round 1, Ridley vs. Diablo. We have some hardcore analyzation on that match…coming up next.

Moltar’s Bracket Says: M. Bison will win

Moltar’s Prediction is: Albedo 42% - M. Bison 58%

Ulti’s Analysis

If KOS-MOS vs Ryu is any indication, M. Bison should be able to win this without much trouble. Bison may not be on par with Ryu, but Albedo is no where NEAR the level KOS-MOS is on. I firmly expect this match to play out in the same manner.

Prediction: M. Bison with 62.13%

Soul’s Analysis

Ahh, the classic "Overseeded Vs. Underseeded" match. This is KOS-MOS Vs. Ryu all over again. Same predicament here folks, M. Bison will win it comfortably. Do you know what Ryu scored against KOS-MOS? Imagine that score here for Bison. Well, actually, might as well give Bison the win with about 59.87%

Oh, I don't think Wesker's going to be the bracket favorite. Wesker's not quite as recognizable as Board 8 would have you believe, I don't think. He definitely doesn't reach out of Resident Evil... at all. Not like Nemesis does. And, Luca's the higher seed/has been in a contest before.

I think Wesker's got around 47% of the brackets.

Somebody is lame... :p

And if CATS has a vote total that he'll always hit (or come rather close to) and Ansem is a midcarder at best (expected to be lower than a midcarder, fo course) then he may end this contest looking better than he has ever had the fortune of doing before. The weakest opponent he has ever faced was Ryu, after all, and Ryu is nothing to laugh at.
