Fun with numbers: So far (Wesker at 60.08%), Wesker ranks at 15.47% in the X-Sts, inbetween Conker and Sam Fisher. Meanwhile, Mithos would rank at 15.28%, projecting that Wesker would beat Mithos with 50.61% of the vote. Ouch. That also means Kefka would be projected to beat Wesker with 63.53%.

Food for thought: Wesker was the massive board favorite for RE in the nomination period, and would've gotten a 4-5 seed in a board bracket. But where was the support for Nemesis? Absolutely none. He wouldn't have made a 64-entry bracket based on the board's nominations. That means monstruous front-page support. And from there, it really could mean Wesker isn't all he's hyped up to be, while Nemesis would be more like what we expected from Wesker. That's really Ocelot's big chance, if it turns out to be true.

Imma say Nemesis is only slightly weaker than Wesker is, and I'd put nemmy at a good 14.5 on 2k4 Link if we have Magus pegged right. So yeah, sadly I'm seeing Ocelot at about 16% unless Nemesis is stronger than Wesker. Then, if we assume that Ultros = CATS (comparing him to a much beloved joke isn't unfair) that puts Wily nearly a full % ahead of Ocelot. I can't imagine any legit arguments existing to say Ultros isn't a joke and have always considered him to be one, even before considering him getting into the contest, so a CATS-like % is fair (I actually honestly think he'd be lower).

While I can see Wily winning, I'd have a very hard time seeing him getting more than 53% of the vote. If Ultros is stronger than CATS or Nemesis isn't as close to Wesker as I expect then it could be bigger, but the opposite is (even more) likely and could throw Ocelot into the winner's circle by an equally small margin.

CATS and Giygas should've been swapped. Imagine the Ganondorf/CATS jokes that could've been made at the n00bs' expense about their respective performances against Link (this subject came up a few times during the off-season, right?), and Ansem/Giygas would've been kinda fitting, even though I never played KH - the "DARKNESS!!!" bit just makes me feel these two would've been a perfect match.

Man, I'm on a roll here. Well, I'm stuck in Starcraft, so it's not like I have many better things to do.

Slow, for anything to do with Kefka I'd highly consider taking his unadjusted number. I'm thinking Mithos is around 13.75 and leaves Wesker a little room for comfort while Kefka still has breathing room (though not as much as project) enough to laugh and be unafraid.

But yeah, Ocelot being trippled would suck, though after his performance against Nemesis I would sort of expect something like that to happen.

Note: This assumes that there was no 20XX Factor, which puts Kefka approximately equal to Duke Nukem.

Mithos is at 15.09% on 2003 Link, slightly above Iori Yagami. That means Mithos would be expected to get 56.12% on Luca Blight.

Wesker is currently at 16.61% on 2003 Link, around the level of Sam Fisher. That means Wesker beats Mithos with 54.57% of the vote, and he gets 39.62% on Kefka. Even without the 20XX Factor being put in, Wesker's still a long way from Kefka.

Also, if we assume that Luca did indeed suffer some sort of underperformance against Magus, he still has to be around the level of Simon Belmont (16.88% on 2003 Link) for Wesker to stand a chance against unadjusted Kefka. Not likely, I say.
