But Nemesis is MUCH more prominent AND memorable in his game... at least from what I played. Plus he is a killer ZOMBIE. Have you forgotten the utter coolness of Zombies, Cyborgs, Ninjas, and Pirates?? But seriously, I don't see Wesker being a magnet of popularity. I would think that people acknowledge that fact that he is a villain in the series, but he is far from memorable or likeable. I would think that seeing Nemesis brings back more memories of the Tyrant, William Birkin, Mr. X (I call him Mr. Coats), AND himself yelling STARRZHH while blasting you with a rocket launcher.

To get Nemesis up to Kain level which is where I think he needs to be for Ocelot to beat Wily, He have to beat Nemesis by basically 60-40, barring SFF. That means he have to be 1.5 times stronger than Wesker. Say what you want, I cant see that in any scenario.

I find it hard to believe the main villian in the series has only 66% of the strength that a villian that appears in one game and is a tool for the other main villian (Umbrella) to elimate STARS.

Im just going by the stats here. Realistically, No I cant see Nemesis being that much stronger than Wesker, stats or not. I cant. Its an impossibility. So even without looking at the stats, Wily has to be fodder for Ocelot to win. He could be fodder, but I dont think he is.

If Nemesis is that much stronger than Wesker it will prove one things, behind the scene guys (Ocelot and Wesker) dont pull in any votes compared to guys who are being manipulated but are the main villian in one game. (Nemesis and Liquid Snake.)

Btw, based off what I'm hearing, there's reason to believe Nemesis > Wesker as well. I think Nemesis feel victim to MGS. I mean, come on, one of their characters is in the Noble Nine.

I only picked Wesker because of the idea that was stirring up in the CS&D at the time that RE4 wold propel him. Apart from that, I never thought Wesker was going to be anything. I guess you could say I was a bandwagoner for this match. Same for M. Bison.

I still think Ocelot has more than a legit chance to pull this off.

There's one known bug in that version; if you have a character face himself it'll throw StringIndexOutOfBoundsExceptions and screw up the GUI. I've fixed that in the version that I have on my computer, but I want to clean up and comment the code as well as add the data from this contest before releasing it.

Ocelot/Nemesis drew in ~5000 more votes than Wily/Ultros. Vote totals is a very large indication of contest strength, and someone in the first poll made a difference somewhere.

Now granted, all four of those characters are weak bastards, and Ocelot/Wily may come down to which fanbase cares less. Or it could play out like Mega Man/Snake, who knows.

I know what you are saying, but I still dont buy Nemesis = Looks like Zombie, thus Nemesis > Wesker. I really cant explain it. Resident Evil 3 isnt the most well liked game of the series, Nemesis generally isnt regarded as the best villian especially compared to the likes of Wesker, Birkin, or my personal favorite, Krauser. Maybe the average dope who knows next to nothing about Resident Evil saw Nemesis againist an Old Man, and went "OHHH ZOMBIE", but that be expressing that pictures matter in a serious way.

But... I just can't stand when people use weak arguments. I'm ESPECIALLY against the notion that because Wesker is the mastermind behind the story that he automatically should be the most popular villain in the contest. That's just like saying you can't like Jean Grey better than Professor X or Juggernaut better than Magneto because ANYBODY who knows X-Men would know that Magneto and Professor X are the masterminds.

I'm not paralleling Nemesis to Juggernaut and Jean Grey, but it's the same concept that you're arguing for. All I'm saying is that I don't see why people think it's not fathomable for someone to like Nemesis better when fighting Zombies was the whole drawing point of the Resident Evil series. I'm not saying it's true. But we don't know....
