SMRPG is superior to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I'd take a button-mashing exercise over this piece of **** anyday.

HM, you even read the entire thing? I compared Kuja mostly to Kefka which is a more than fair comparision.
Comparing Kuja to Kefka is a better comparison, yes. But to say that because Kefka isn't that strong in these contests does not mean that no one is capable of being more liked. There seems to be this horrible, horrible idea that Kefka would be stronger than just about every other villain. What in the blue bloody hell suggests that Kefka is anywhere near the top of the placing for FF villains? I don't think there is much at all.
The fact that Square fans dont seem to support their villians well at all.
Outside of Kefka, there isn't much to support the idea that they don't support villains from the series. Simply because he's shown to be weak does not mean that no other villains are capable of getting support. He is, after all, not that good of a villain to begin with. People not liking him shouldn't come as a large surprise to anyone. But there are obviously other factors that could play into that.

LOL, they're still sad that a superior game like Super Mario RPG beat some overrated button masher.
I can't see how people play those games. Won't your thumbs break off after several hours of mashing buttons nonstop?

Oh, my opinion on the SF ladder, based off of nothing more than a guess:
Not that I'm directly aiming this at you, but I have not the slightest why people think Akuma is not right under Ryu. I've said it many times and I'll say it again, if Akuma were in Bison's place, the Ruin Division would not be in question. He would plow right through everyone with relative ease.
I apologize for having a life.
Oh, ****ing spare me. I look at people who bring up the "life" card as those who actually do not have as good as one as they like to think. I go to work, play games, usually would be in college, hang out with friends, and still manage to partake in discussion in this topic. So your excuse is what again?

SMRPG is awesome. Geno is my hero.
Even though, I did like Paper Mario 2 and Mario and Luigi better. There hasnt been a Mario RPG that hasnt been great. Thats what you get when you had Square in their prime working on them and IS who are always good, especially with RPGs.

SMRPG > SF2. All is well.
I'm trying to learn the formula for the X-stats a lil' better; check me to see if I'm right or not, please...but, if Ghaleon = Laharl, then Vergil lands right between Viewtiful Joe and Jill Valentine. If Ghaleon = Luca, then Vergil is just under Crash Bandicoot. Correct, I think?

Akuma is very popular, particularly among
a casual auidence. That same auidence happens to be just about all of
GameFAQs when it comes to fighting games. There's no doubt in my mind
that he is solid second ahead of everyone that is not named Ryu.

No doubt in my mind Ridley has quite a bit more strength than Mother
Brain, but Im not sure how much.

You must not go to arcades/play online then, Akuma is everywhere there.
And there are a few non SF2 characters that are popular. Charlie, Guy, Sakura, Karin, Rolento and Cody are all quite popular.

Well, I would imagine so. If you don't care for him in the first place, it's probably best to want him to be as low as possible and still win so that it looks better for Ridley and/or Robotnik.

I've played both SMRPG and SFII and I've gotta say I've never been able
to replay a game, much less an RPG, more than I've replayed SMRPG. I
was pretty much ecstatic when SMRPG won and then laughing when the SFII
fans cried.

I've never been an avid RPG fan, though there's afew I've enjoyed. The
only one I've successfully ever replayed is FF7 (two or three times, at
that). The only other RPG I've tried to replay is SMRPG, and couldn't
get myself to even though I loved it the first time...much like Metroid
Prime to me in that respect, actually.

What's next? Is he going to tell us Kratos' entire backstory in the summer contest? ~_~

Mario and Luigi? Greater than SMRPG?
*Dies*
What? It is better.
Well, it's not like it's difficult anyway. Nintendo outrageously stinks at making RPGs, and the only one that doesn't have Pokémon in the name that I'd call anything more than just "good" was the first Paper Mario.

I actually liked Mario & Luigi better than SMRPG, although it may
not be better overall. I think the gameplay was a bigger factor to me
than anything else. Mario & Luigi was more action oriented and
therefore more fun to play.
Both SMRPG and Mario & Luigi are LEAGUES better than Paper Mario and Paper Mario 2. Those are possibly the two most boring Mario games I have EVER played. It pained me just to play through them. I didn't even finish beating PM2 (got to the last level) because my Blockbuster rental was up and I didn't feel like paying any more money to beat it. I didn't care for it at all...

It was incredibly long and the hands could regenerate and attack you right after you killed them.
Also, I got it down to 2 hp, then an enemy fell from the sky, confusing my partner, making my next action not work and I lost -.- RANDOM ENEMIES SHOULD NOT FALL FROM THE BLOODY CEILING.
Though besides that, I liked PM2 better than the original >_>

So Akuma truly is up there.
Anyone worried that Bison may actually beat Kefka? The Elite Eight has typically been the variable picture round, and if Kefka gets the lettuce mug, he's gone.

Lettuce Kefka is generally reserved for full body shots, which this
tournament seems to be skipping over. My bet would be Kefka's final
boss picture for the Elite Eight, possibly from the FF Anthologies FMV.

I've recently begun to question if he'll get out of the first round; I
think beating Kefka is, while not out of the question, is the least of
his worries right now.

A naked man with wings in a towel, great pick for Kefka.

I don't think Bison will have any trouble with Albedo. I haven't seen
reason to believe that Albedo will even come close to beating him.

Ryu beat KOS-MOS with absolute ease. There's very little doubt that
Albedo will be weaker than that, which leaves Bison plenty of room to
fall in between and still win.

Jenova Division: Round 1 - Match 8 – (2)Liquid Snake vs. (7)Officer Tenpenny
Moltar’s Analysis
Liquid Snake
Game/Series Known From: Metal Gear Solid
Hey, I remember him from the Summer Contest!
Tenpenny
Game/Series Known From: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Everytime I hear about him, I just automatically think Tanner.
And the Jenova Division ends with a…thud. Liquid Snake, who we already know is strong thanks to the 2004 Summer Contest, goes up against the unknown in strength Tenpenny.
You think Tenpenny will be as strong as Liquid? Neither do I. Another free point in the Jenova division.
Interestingly enough though, this is the only 2/7 match that is just plain obvious to call. Scary…
Moltar’s Bracket Says: Liquid Snake will win
Moltar’s Prediction is: Liquid 80% - Tenpenny 20%
Ulti’s Analysis
Tenpenny is only in this thing because of San Andreas's recent popularity, but that's about the only thing going well for him. If Vercetti or Johnson couldn't touch Liquid, I fail to see how Tenpenny stands much of a chance.
Ulti’s Prediction: Liquid Snake with 62.34%
Soul’s Analysis
As stated earlier, I haven’t played a MGS game. However, I know a lot about the Snake brothers. I know they are a force to be reckoned with. God CJayC, why couldn’t you make Snake face Bowser? Why was it so hard to make a huge bracket-breaker match like that?
Officer Tenpenny is from GTA: SA. I have SA here, in my PS2. Unfortunately, I don’t enjoy it as much as Vice City. I don’t like the excessive profanity (There I go using big words again) in the game at all. I also don’t like the missions, especially the one I’m stuck at. The racing level = so freaking hard! I gave up on it when I rented RE4 and DMC3. I couldn’t go back to it afterwards.
Tenpenny is Samuel L. Jackson’s character. He’s a dirty cop, trying to bust CJ anyway possible. That’s all I got so far in the game. I don’t consider him that much of a villain though, but to each their own I guess.
Liquid Snake is ranked 3rd in this contest for a reason. He should take this match rather easily, with 80% of the votes.
