Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
http://sc2k5.com/drupal/node/11

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

Well, I was bored, so I decided to average out all the Final Fantasy review scores. Stat collecting has always been a bit of a hobby of mine. Here they are.

Final Fantasy- 8.56 (43)
Final Fantasy II- 5.69 (32)
Final Fantasy III- 8.78 (27)
Final Fantasy IV- 9.03 (65)
Final Fantasy V- 9.28 (40)
Final Fantasy VI- 9.42 (53)
Final Fantasy VII- 9.06 (85)
Final Fantasy VIII- 8.17 (77)
Final Fantasy IX- 8.28 (64)
Final Fantasy X- 8.91 (98)
Final Fantasy XI- 7.77 (70)

Series average: 8.45

Numbers in parantheses are the number of reviews that game has...so, FFVI really is the most well-liked after all. FFV comes in a surprising second, with FFVII a solid third.

Also, I believe the 98 reviews that FFX has are the most of any game on the site.

According to cn's SFF adjusted stats DK increased by a little less than 2%. It'd end up putting Vivi at 24.85% (down 4 spots in the 2k4 SFF adjusted XSt) on 2k3 Link, assuming the DK number from my adjusted 2k3 is correct. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Donkey Konga had helped the ape ever-so-slightly though.

From last topic, on the subject of Vergil vs. Sephiroth:

^Wow....that would make him stronger then Auron.

Yeah, I know, that’s why I said if he was *really* lucky. Seriously, I see Sephiroth at around 76% in that match.

I just realized I don't even remember who I put down to win tomorrow's War of Blobs. Does it even matter?

i mean sephiroth vs. Ramirez, c'mon how many people actually know who Ramires is? And now it's Virgil vs. Ghaleon. I bet the casual gamer just comes in here and is like "hmm, i don't even know who that is, i'll vote for him since i actually know him."

That's less than DK's number on 2K3 Link. Are you sure you don't mean 2K4 Link?

If that's true, that still gives Zidane some wiggle room to be ahead of Vivi and not be higher than Squall.

Hmm...so that'd put Vivi between Yoshi and Luigi (I'd say right under Knuckles, but he's been in Mega Man's division for the last two years). That makes Zidane seem more capable of being stronger than Viv to me, since I think he'd be right at Knuckles's strength before this. This also doesn't help Kuja's case, though it doesn't necessarily hurt either.

Yeah, it's only going from beating Yoshi to beating Luigi. Not that far, really, and of course it is assuming that a character with a new game or three didn't gain anything at all over the course of a year.

If we didn't assume your Mega Man theory and did assume DK stayed steady from 2k3 to 2k4, that actually put Vivi up to Bowser's level (or just short, actually, I think). That's a lot bigger difference than just Yoshi-to-Luigi, though that isn't shown in the adjusted stats.

Heh, like you don't need to be known to perform in a popularity contest. Strange, the concept of popularity, eh?

When's the last time we've had one of 'em tourists in the stats topic, BTW?

"That's less than DK's number on 2K3 Link. Are you sure you don't mean 2K4 Link?"

Methinks you've missed out on what I've been talking about since the last topic. I assumed that Sephiroth overperformed on Cloud in 2k3 (since the 2k2 and 2k4 numbers seem to support that idea). Assuming that as a fact, two full divisions in 2k3 have incorrect stats. Re-doing the stats with that assumption in mind gives DK a lower score against 2k3, and that lower score was carried over to adjust Vivi assuming that the adjusted number is both correct and unchanged.

The second assumption isn't one I put my full faith in, so if I were to guess I'd have Vivi directly in between Luigi and Yoshi, at least, but since we're working with what limited math we've got I am trying to not insert non-mathematical assumptions in with the rest. That being said, Vivi, through that aforementioned DK, is about 3% lower than previously thought.

While it's being brought up, I think Zidane might outperform Vivi ever so slightly in an actual contest. As a fan favorite Vivi gets more nominations for sure, but that doesn't mean that he'd perform better. Then again, with nothing to prove otherwise it doesn't mean Zidane would do better either (look at Auron). As for Kuja, it doens't mean too much to him since almost everyone else in the contest rates in the oft mentioned weak bastards catagory.

That's not what I mean. I'm saying his fans either knew he wouldn't be eligible as you-know-who and nominated Sin instead. Either that, or they would vote accordingly, treating it as you-know-who.

that's the thing, Leon, on Board 8, Seymour had way more nominations than Sin and you-know-who actually had more nominations, too.

so, i am reasonably confident in Sin now.
