I think people are severly underestimating Nemesis. There is no need to fear having Ocelot over Wily or even Ocelot over Bowser at this point. Nemesis is about as villanous as it gets not to mention his big movie appearance and the fact that he comes straight from the series that just about invented survival horror. Expecting Ocelot to get 80% is just crazy. Let's say for a second that Ocelot were equal to Bowser which most people think he is considerably weaker anyways. If Ocelot were to equal Bowser and Nemesis were to be <= Pyramid, then and only then would Ocelot be getting that 80% mark. But obviously, Nemesis is considerably stronger than Pyramid Head. He is from a much more popular series, got more nominations than Pyramid Head (and wasn't even expected to make the tourney), and is considered by most to be a far better character. Not to bash Pyramid Head, but it is very understandable that Ocelot is "killing" Nemesis. Settle down kiddies.

Ocelot is really stinkin' it up here. Nemesis is surely more popular than Pyramid Head, but surely it can't be by a huge amount. But if Sigma's performance was any indication of Wily's strength, then Ocelot shouldn't have much trouble with him.

Ocelot could very well fall towards 53% the same way Sigma did.

Ocelot's not increasing his lead a whole lot, if at all. At some point of the match, he might have lost a chunk of votes, like Sigma did. Eventually, has the total votes increase, Ocelot might be down to as low as 53%...maybe lower..but we'll see.

Unless I screwed up the math, in order for Ocelot to be equal to Bowser, Nemesis has to be CONSIDERABLY stronger than Jill... Jill would get 35% on Bowser.

Sure ghaleon is lesser known but since when has that been the crucial determinant in these battles? Particularly with the poll having been moved down, less in casual view than it once was.


Super Mario RPG was less played (though not by as much I would say...) but it managed to beat SFII.

Even more so though, Xenogears beat Pokemon Gold/Silver Crystal with nearly 58%.

It just seems like everyone put vergil in their bracket based on popularity >_> (well and maybe some because they dont know who Ghaleon is). I dont know why he should be counted out so soon.

Well, this is making me wish I would have kept Wesker over Kefka. Most thought I was crazy when I suggested it, but now it doesn't look half bad. I'd change it now if I could, but for now I'll just have to hope Kefka pulls it out. On the plus side though, if Wesker wins I doubt we'll see a perfect bracket.

I think the casuals have figured out where the poll is by now. Still wouldn't help Ghaleon against Vergil, whose game is new and popular and who looks pretty damn cool.

It also has the words "Mario" and "RPG" in it. Besides, SMRPG was still probably played by plenty of people in this site's demographic.

Xenogears is made by Square, sadly, and Pokemon is neither new nor cool.

Nemesis 14.00 (Tina Armstrong)

Which leads to a 72% victory for Ocelot...Looks like I was way off. If my Ocelot guess is right, Nemmy is around 22% (Viewtiful Joe), or if my Nemmy guess is right, Ocelot is around 16% (PaRappa, ouch). Obviously I'm off on both counts, the question is by how much...I really wanna see how Wily does on Ultros tomorrow, because I guessed Wily would just under Kefka (22% for Wily), and I'd expect Kefka to beat Nemesis worse than this...

Reason for hypothesis: The past two matches.

Further expected evidence: If tomorrow's match is less than 55% or so; Kuja/MH is less than 55% or so; Sin/Robotnik is less than 55% or so; and all new characters get beat 65%+ by Bowser/Ganondorf; 70%+ by Sephiroth.

There both Square RPGs. After Square, there is a huge dropoff until you reach a couple of popular titles, then a huge dropoff until you reach everything else. If Ghaleon so much as gives Vergil a fight, I'd be shocked.
