from the stunt I pulled at GFA awhile back (heh...heh), I assume MC got about 1,300 votes from his link.

When I referenced to my GFA-stunt in the last topic, it referred to back in March (I think) when www.GameFAQsASCII.com was having their own character contest. Master Chief had already been put out by Bowser in the second round, but Arbiter somehow beat Tidus in a close one and Zero about 60-40 to get to face Mega Man in the third round...

From the way I understand that site, the higher bar is the more popular one (obviously...and that's the important thing to know). However, I think the numbers on the side say how high a site is on the list of the most popular sites at that time...

Look, Sin will win now because Sigma's weak performance against Andross helps Ultros. If Ultros does well against Dr. Wily, then Sin has a chance against Robotnik.

The fact that a big Megaman site is giving Sigma votes is making him overperform slightly, which harms Dr. Wily a lot. The fact that despite all that, that Sigma only has about 53% of the vote doesn't help matters for the Megaman crew either.

But, that's just me. And, we'll see if Dr. Wily can beat Ultros into a bloody pulp or not.

I don't agree with the argument for Sin at all.... Sonic fans have never abandoned their own outside of maybe Sonic vs. Cloud. I don't see why you think they would all of a sudden right off Robotnik. He's as much of a character to the series as everyone else. Even if he is weaker than Tails, I don't see the Sonic fanbase letting there be that much of a dropoff.

Square fans do not necessarily always support their own.... Otherwise, there's no way a Square backed Yuna loses to Knuckles by 10000+ votes. If they don't back Yuna, why would they back Sin? Even IF Robotnik isn't a magnet of popularity... everybody KNOWS who he is and I would think that he would get the benefit of doubt unless the voter is a HARDCORE Final Fantasy X fan. I will go out on a limb and say I don't even think Sin will do better than Ultros. A Chocobo or Moogle would do better than Sin....

I care about Sin. He's one of the most well-designed villains ever.

You also think Magus is a villain and/or he's the deepest character ever. And while you may care about Sin - the same way Slow cares about Robotnik - I doubt the masses care. I cannot see how you could possibly make an argument, outside of Sin is from FF, over Robotnik. And your comparisons between Sigma, Wily, and Robotnik make little to no sense.
