And while I'm thinking of it...where are all the votes? This match is off nearly 15% from yesterday's pace.

True, but Bowser's first round match last year was one of the lowest draws in the entire contest...I mean, his match against Threepwood got beaten by Fisher/Freeman. And vote totals have never dropped off this much from match #1 to match #2, even though the opening match ALWAYS has a bigger draw.

Yeah, tnote definitely did change his bracket at the last minute. I decided to just hedge my bets this way. If Ghaleon wins, not having the chance to win this contest is worth seeing the 2nd best villain ever advance. If he loses though, and I have him in my bracket, I have no chance to win AND I am depressed. Make no mistake: I still think Ghaleon will win the match, I just decided a missed point was worth it.

As for the best villain ever, even I know that it is hopeless to think Luca Blight would ever be even marginal in a popularity contest =(

Frankly, I'm dissappointed in Sigma. Kinda funny saying that, as I said this match was a bit up in the air the day the bracket came out. I made my pick and stuck with it, but all along I was correct in thinking that this match had surprise potential. I said the same of Ultro/Wily. I have far more respect for Wily than Sigma, though, and have always expected him to be stronger (and by always I mean even before this contest was concieved). Wily is not going to have a cake walk of a match with Ultros unless he's quite a bit more formidable than Protoman.

Well, this one's over, let me know when the next match starts (don't, I already know). I gotta get ready for work and head out, but I'll check back in a few.

Kefka doesn't suck. He went from struggling with Pac Man in 2003 to being projected to score about 63% on him. We have yet to see Kefka's potential, but it'll show up in this contest.

*cough*Luigi/Pac-Man*cough*

And even if there was no irregularity there, Kefka's percentage on Pac-Man only goes up because the latter dropped, not because the former rose.

Unless Kefka has the Crono ability to gain strength year by year, which has yet to be seen. Regardless, Pac-Man probably did drop a lil'.

We accounted for Crono SFF based off of a constant Pac-Man, and it gave Kefka about the same percentage he was expected to get against Knuckles. He didn't increase, and I'm wondering why people seem to think he did.

The same? No...Kefka went from about 20.7% up to 22.75%.
Put '04 Kefka against '02 Pac-Man, and Kefka wins wiith more than 55%. Of course, since our measurements of these two characters were two years apart, it's very prone to error.

Unless Pac-Man dropped a lil' from 2k2 to 2k3...it wouldn't be much, obviously, but it's possible. Plus, for Kefka coming from being the under-dog against Pac-Man to the favorite against Knuckles, I think he gained a lil' bit through that...again, it wouldn't have to be much (probably to the point of being insignificant, really), but it's plausible.

Ceej will probably just increase the size of the Vergil pic on the Meet the Villains page and use a headshot from it come match time.

I made a pre-poll for Ridley vs Diablo, and Diablo has jumped out to a nice lead after some early struggles.

Although, Sigma's constant failure to break 2700 is showing in the percentage.

At this rate, Sigma will surely fall under 54%.

The better Andross does, the more likely it is that Wily will bomb. And the closer Ultros gets to Wily, the more likely it is that Robutt will bomb.

Robutt's fat ass bombing may risk splitting the earth in two, but seeing Sin beat him would be worth it.

Yikes, this match is making me afraid for my bracket. Andross is doing WAY better than expected. I don't see any reason whatsoever why Andross should have much strength, seeing how weak Fox is, and there is no way I'll believe that Andross > Fox. The only way I see this match going the way it's going is for Sigma to be much weaker than expected.

And if Sigma is that weak, Dr. Wily and Dr. Robotnik are likely to be weaker than we thought. I would now say Ultros has a decent shot at upsetting Wily, and I would be very happy to see that happen (FFVI is IMO the Best. Game. Ever.), but it would mean the loss of a point. Heck, my bracket originally had Uncle Ultry getting by Ocelot, mostly because I have not played any of the MGS games and am unfamiliar with the characters' popularities except for Solid Snake.

If Sin can steal enough of the FFX votes, Robotnik is toast, and that would NOT make me happy. Sin is a giant whale with no character, not to mention that FFX sucked (though not as badly as FFX-2). I am a big fan of the Genesis Sonic games (I still have a Genesis with S2, S3, S&K (that lock-on technology was awesome!), Sonic Spinball, plus some other games), and from those experiences alone I would vote for Robotnik over a lot of characters. IMO, Sonic > Knuckles > Tails > Robotnik > all other Sonic characters (including Shadow).
