But think about who Tails and Kefka actually are
and then look at their contest strength. Why would a Ridley who is
nothing more than a boss fight in a series that is at best about as
popular as the Sonic series has been and not even close to being as
popular as FF, be on their level?

Here, Metroid > Sonic and Samus > Sonic. Tails is bound to be
closer to Sonic than Ridley is to Samus, but after taking that into
account, I still think Ridley matching Tails feels just fine.

And FFVI > Metroid. Your point? It's obvious that Samus would
benefit FAR far more from Metroid than Ridley would. The same isn't
true for Knuckles and Tails. They each have been in the limelight at
some point and I think they have a lot more fans than Ridley would. And
seeing where Tails ranks makes me skeptical that Ridley would be on
that level. Based on that, I feel that Diablo is capable of gathering
enough support to top Ridley.

I figured M. Bison woud be goin' down and Officer Tenpenny would be
goin' up as the day went on...but instead, just the opposite's
happening. OT might get a boost once school starts letting out...but
I'm not counting on it.

since Ridley won't match Tails's support/fanbase, he's gonna lose to

The fact of the matter is Kefka, Wesker, M.Bison, and Ridley/Diablo
would lose to almost every single one of the winners of the first round
in the other divisions (Vergil might be the only exception). Whoever
wins this division is going to get murdered. This isnt a contest of who
is strong enough, its a contest of who is not as weak as the others.

Kefka/Wesker, to tell you the truth. That match could very well be the

I doubt Wesker'll be that strong. There's almost more of a chance of him losing to Luca Blight than him beating Kefka.

To put that in perspective, the X-Sts expect Kefka to get 70.89% on Luca Blight. No way is Wesker doing that.

Bah, I deleted it 'cuz I thought I was goin' a lil' off-topic with it,
but we'll work with it...Wesker won't break that number, but it's not
hard to imagine Wesker would get more than 60.45% against Luca either.
I believe it'll be about a doubling, give or take a lil'.

This poll is clearly about the characters that have the most bracket
support in comparisson to their seeding. The fact that Bison isn't
seeded that much lower than Albedo and the fact that he's winning says
something. It says I need to change my pick like dozens of other people
will be doing because this poll is really a self-fulfilling prophecy of
sorts.
The fact that Diablo is not on there says something: no bracket support. That can only be good for Ridley, though we know it didn't stop SC so it's not that good. Diablo with less upset potential than Ultros? Heheh.
Master Hand being up there is almost scary, but then I remember that characters with 0 upset chance like CATS and Ultros are on there as well. I'm thinking thas'll be another LS vs Frog, just a little bit further off. While I'm speaking of Ultros, wouldn't it be a hillarious kick in the pants if he were >= Kefka?
Not seeing Ghaleon in there bothers me. Him and Vergil being sepperated by one seed maeks it less of an upset, so maybe that was against his name being up there, but I think in terms of brackets Vergil vs. Ghaleon is going as expected. Of course, look to Frog on my thoughts of bracket reliability.

I actually thought about that...not worth putting any stock into, heh, but it WOULD be funny. Same with Lavos and Magus, except the hilarity would never stop. =)

Here's an interesting question: with the low vote totals today so far
and it mentioning upsetting in the Spring Contest, does anybody think
their opponents are making any difference in today's poll? That could
explain why Tenpenny's doin' so bad, and if that theory has any weight,
that could make for some interesting viewpoints on the other characters.
Of course, this factor wouldn't account for much, but I was wondering if anybody else might agree with it.
