and also, i started playing Tales of Symphonia today! ^_^

here's my random thoughts about it so far:

*POSSIBLE SLIGHT SPOILERS*

with a friend, too. the battle system was a little awkward to get used to with 2-players, but once we got used to it, it was quite fun. i'm about three hours in and at the desert oasis town. for the record, so far, Collette does suck. i find her highly irritating already. i do like Lloyd and Genus, though. Lloyd is clueless and impulsive, making for a likable combination. i also like how earning different titles for accomplishing different things affects your stats as you level up. i've also discovered that it really helps a lot when someone in your party knows First Aid. and, i am officially irritated about Mithos being labeled as a villain in this contest. so far, he has only been referred to as the "Great Hero Mithos". i bet that would have been a great plot twist to see when you realize that Mithos is evil. bah!! stupid Ceej Spoilers.

so far, though, i'm really enjoying the game. i'm glad i finally got to it.

i changed my winner on albedo vs. m. bison just now. i'm going to be upset if my new loser ends up winning though. that always happens to me with my ncaa basketball bracket at least. this year i switched my utah over utep from utah to utep so i blew that one and i switched my arizona over ok st. from zona to ok st. so i blew that one. they were the only two initial changes i made too. i would hate to mess up another initial point on that match. is there supposed to be a clear winner or is there at least a board favorite?


also, when do i submit my bracket for guru and who do i submit it to? o_O;

I haven't been as vocal as a lot of you guys in this topic, but I've been reading everything since the nominations opened, and I believe all of the following WILL happen, mark my words:

The winner of Ridley/Diablo will win the Ruin Division
Ansem will beat CATS
Dr. Robotnik will beat Sin
Kuja will beat Master Hand
Kuja will beat Dr. Robotnik

The following matches I knew very little about both characters and went with the board favorite:

No, I'm thinking that the Lara and Sam were completely crazy, then she did slightly better against Sora and Sonic than against Cloud. Sort of in the same way that Sonic missed in the boat against Cloud. It wasn't a big variation, but just enough that Magus slipped ahead. Such variations are pretty much negligeable, but if I had to pick a match between Sora, Sonic and Cloud where Samus looked slightly worse, I'd take Cloud.

Wow, things have really died down the last couple of days. Once Saturday night at 27:00 (my clock runs from 6:00 to 30:00, and I'm in Boston) rolls around, I expect this place to explode with people extrapolating the results of the rest of the contest based on how badly Bowser is crushing Pyramid Head and whether or not the contest is living up to expectations in terms of number of voters.

Bring it on already, I'm tired of waiting!

Hey HaRRicH, remember what I said about waiting to do a contest based off of my bracket? If you want, you can forget I said that. In fact, if you plan on doing such a contest, I'd reccomend making the bracket and starting the contest as soon as you read this. I only bring this up because as it currently stands, Ocarina of Time is #65 on the list. You could feasibly bump .hack Part 4: Quarantine off the list in favor of OOT (and have OOT as a 16 seed in a contest <_<;;), though if you wait even a day or two longer, OOT might get pushed too far down for you to fairly have it in the contest.

Think of how screwed up and funny the seedings would be in that thing. Better yet, turn my topic into a true tradition and do one such contest per year! Or even one oer six months!

Okay overkill, but still, you get the point. I remember you were really enthusiastic when you first had the idea, so I thought I'd bring it up before OOT was prematurely retired. Besides, it's contest season. It would probably draw interest.

i would say that ridley, diablo, m.bison, albedo, kefka, or wesker could all potentially win that division. for me i'm pretty confident in what i have except for m.bison vs. albedo. although anything in that division wouldn't surprise me.

surprises me also, but so did kos-mos vs. crash bandicoot until i figured some things out. albedo is huge popular on this board as far as i can tell but then again so is kefka and look at how he did against pac-man. >_>

That would be because people would have overestimated Albedo as opposed to underestimating Bison. Neither of those are getting past the second round.

Ulti, with as few votes as some of the games have got in your tourney, I would think that I could get away with taking out every game that got less than 30 votes and didn't get above 9.00 (which would be Arkanoid, Myst, and .hack that would be taken out that's above LoZ:OoT score-wise). With that said, I'm still interested in making the tourney, but my finals end this coming Thursday...so I'm gonna wait for them to end before I make that.

Heh, it will be one interesting bracket for sure though.....
