I'm just happy that the PC is doing so well.

During my time of being unable to get online, I started replaying SoAL. It's been long enough that I've forgotten some things, so I am actually a bit surprised at some points, or I don't remember what is going to happen until right before it happens.

Everyone needs to play SoAL. <3

Eh, ever since playing Paper Mario 2 and Tales of Symphonia, I don't think I can go back to the annoyingly frequent random battles of SoAL.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised at the Xbox doing that. But I was even more surprised with the PC's showing. It held a lead for 6 hours, and will likely finish a very close second.

I blame World of Warcraft.

Eh, ever since playing Paper Mario 2 and Tales of Symphonia, I don't think I can go back to the annoyingly frequent random battles of SoAL.

The frequency is really, really exaggerated, especially once you get the White Map, which you can get quite early.

And SoAL's weakest area is definitely the random battles, slowness of the battles, but it more than makes up for it with the overworld - yes the overworld is awesome in SoAL - the characters, and the story. And it even has a protagonist that knows how to do "optimistic" without taking it to Heroic Mario levels... Lloyd sucks. >_>

Lloyd's level of optimism and his constant speeches about how to treat other people at the end made me desperately want to see him die a horrible death. I am no longer in preschool and I don't want video game characters to be lecturing me. And if I have to sit through it, I don't want him doing it 5+ times in the last two - three hours of the game.

But, yes, Vyse does optimistic well, but he isn't an idiot. >_>

Well, it's not that SoAL's battles are any more frequent than other RPGs=it's just that they're so freakin' slow. At the very minimum, you spend at least a minute in each battle. Therefore, it just seems like you're running into a random battle every two seconds.

He isn't a "likeable" idiot, though. He's an "idiot who, if I knew someone like him in real life, I would have chained up in my dungeon/basement and would torture on a daily basis just for being stupid" type of idiot.

Not that I have a dungeon where I torture people. *cough*

It's hard to consider it "random insanity" when it's been so hopelessly overdone, and then there's the fact that it was never funny to begin with.

But maybe that's just me.

Oh, and Wily > Ansem

I'd pick Wily over Ansem easy. Ansem won't be close to Sora's strength, because he plays such a small part in the game.

ToS SPOILERS

And yes, Lloyd is an idiot. ToS was the first RPG I ever played where I wasn't behind the hero's goals. I mean, I may have not like past heroes, but I've at least though "Well, they're doing the right thing under the circumstances." ToS took the shades of grey angle almost a little too far... Before Mithos went into "I will create a world of emotionless people where I can have incestuous relations with my sister" mode, I thought that he had a better idea for the worlds than Lloyd did... or at least a more realistic view of how to run a world.

True enough...but then again, it was hard for me to ever imagine anybody beating Sonic/Samus 2k2's 34 votes, then we had two matches that beat it last summer alone. Plus, should a match be VERY close like that at the end again, I could see CJay waiting for the very last second before closing it.

HaRRicH, that bracket is one of the better ones I've seen, but it's a shame that you stuck Magus in Zero and Samus' division as opposed to Solid Snake and/or Sonic's division.

BTW, seeding by the X-Stats is lame. I definitely wouldn't mind having a non-Noble Niner in teh Elite Eight.

I thought about it, but Solid/Magus and Solid/Zero have become so cliche over the off-season and I didn't wanna go through that recycled mess any more than I had to. Also, if Solid Snake doesn't get his act together this year, Tidus may be strong enough for the upset instead (assuming he doesn't choke, which he could...and probably would, heh).

Either that and/or Tidus's real strength must nearly match his 2k3 value if Solid/Tidus would be close:

-Solid 2k4's value compared to Cloud 2k3 gets him 31.98%.
-Tidus 2k3's value compared to Cloud 2k3 gets him 33.14%.

Granted, several things would likely keep Tidus from being a complete threat (tendency to choke, chance his 2k4 strength is true/more true than his 2k3 strength, theory of his 2k3 four-pack being screwy, MGS3, bracket-support, and probably another thing or two, heh), but Tidus very well could impress too. Never know.....
