What makes Dr. Robotnik = Tails so unreasonable? I wanna know where Tails is actually prefered to Dr. Robotnik so I can take a piss in their water system.

...WTF?

I wrote something, then I deleted it and forgot to delete the Spoiler warning, can I get moded for warning for a Sooiler that doesn't exist?

Anyway Robotnik=Tails is not unreasonable now that I think about it, they have the same type of missions in SA2 and Robotnik is playable. But I still don't think he can beat Kuja, even if I will vote for the Doctor.

And I guess that he's in: Sonic crackers and Sega superstar.

His role is that he's the boss of vitrually every zone in the games. He basically just comes at you with a different machine each time.

*SONIC SERIES SPOILERS*

Sonic 3D Blast: Same as in the 2D Sonics. No more, no less.

Sonic Adventure: Attempts to give Chaos the Chaos Emeralds in order to destroy Station Square, but loses control over him when Chaos is defeated by Sonic and Knuckles on the Egg Carrier. After that he tries to stop Chaos, but fails miserably.

Sonic Adventure 2: Tries to conquer the planet with the threat of the Eclipse Cannon on the space colony ARK, but things backfire when the prototype of the ultimate life form uses Chaos Control to shove the colony up his ass and tries to ram it towards Earth, at which point Eggman teams up with Sonic and gang to try and stop it.

Sonic Heroes: Builds the Egg Fleet to take over the world (again), but Metal Sonic rebels, locks him away and parades as Eggman for most of the game. Team Chaotix rescues Eggman who... well, does nothing but deliver exposition. Oh, and tries to escape paying Team Chaotix, with hilarious results.

Don't worry, I know my roots; it's the branches I'm not so sure about, so to speak.

This just makes me question even more why people think Tails > Dr. Robotnik; common sense denotes that with a resume like that, it should be at least Dr. = Tails. He was in four big games on the Genesis and was constantly pulling out the big machines, has been in some spin-off games like Sonic R and Sonic Spinball, had a sweet-but-not-entirely-popular puzzle game named after him, and is apparently still keeping at it in his newer games (as well as becoming playable). Tails missed the first Sonic (no biggy) and hasn't had a game named after him (no biggy either)...but come on; who seriously didn't get mad sometimes when Tails would cost you rings in the bonus games of Sonic 2? Who didn't enjoy trying to trick Tails into death by jumping on moving platforms, even if they were out of your way?

WHO HAS BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO NOT HEAR OR EVEN READ TAILS' THEME IN SONIC HEROES OR WHICHEVER SONIC GAME IT IS?!?!?

Tails is little more than frustrating among the fanbase, though Tails is still liked; he's like the little brother of the Sonic characters, save the fact you can kill him and not have your parents ground you for life. I don't see how Dr. Robotnik will rank below him.

Check out the poll of the day...I hereby coin this tourney...

"The Sephiroth Show"

8 years later...and this fanboy juggernaut refuses to be derailed...

Anyone who is not a fool will pick him to win it all...so the first round 1 point matches will be even more crucial to win now...not that I have to tell my fellow elites that little tidbit...

April 30th I shall resume my regular column with a hilarious satirical preview of the 1st match...featuring some guy and...umm.. some other guy. Yah..thats it...

Until then...I shall complain about the injustice that is Palmer not being in the field of 32. For fat justice!

yeah, Seymour had to have been ineligible. almost noone on this Board nominated Sin, but both Seyomour and Seifer had more than enough to break into the field of Top 32 board nominations. unless, maybe people off this board forgot who Seymour was and had the name of Sin beaten into their heads from hearing it in every single conversation in FFX. *shrugs*

I somehow seem to have snuck upon the 700 karma mark without noticing it. Hm.

Does anyone know anything about Kerrigan however? I'm of the opinion that she could easily down half the characters in this contest, but even naysayers have to admit that she would still be stronger than at least a handful of these losers. And in any case, the fact that freaking Diablo made it into the contest would suggest that Kerrigan should have cleared the same mark easily. Was she kept out for the same antihero-ish reason, say, that Magus would have been?

Why in the world would Seymour have been ineligible though? There's no reason for it.

unless, maybe people off this board forgot who Seymour was and had the name of Sin beaten into their heads from hearing it in every single conversation in FFX.

That was very possibly it.

Maybe there was a "1 villain per game" limit too that he didn't tell us about...but, Ocelot and Liquid made it...but Ocelot was also in more games...bah, I have no idea.

He said it should be someone you "should" fight, not someone you "must" fight. And you never fight CATS, either.

But of course, CATS has to be in every contest ever, just for the sheer idiocy of it all. They could have an all female character contest, Kerrigan still wouldnt make it and CATS would be a four seed.

Le sigh.

I think Kuja over Sin is simply unlikely. I know those two polls were just favorites-polls and games =/= characters, but the odds are in Sin's favor there methinks if it happens to be a Sin/Kuja match in the second round.

Now you're just being silly. You admitted that games =/= characters and yet you STILL think a giant whale can beat a legitimate villain from within its own series?

Games =/= characters, right, but when there's that big of a difference between the two games of the same series, I don't think it's all that ridiculous to assume the villain from the more-popular game (which is the FF of this generation, to boot...never hurts) has some edge over the villain from the less-popular game.

Which is why I'd take Seymour over Kuja, but we're talking Sin here. I can't see any fathomable reason why the fanbase would prefer a giant whale to Kuja, unless you're just assuming the fanbase will vote for Sin because they like FFX better.

Trust me, that ain't gonna happen for Sin.

I think Sin is a tier above Lavos or Mother Brain...

*FFX Spoilers*
.
.
.

Sin gets much more involved with the story than those other two, is a dungeon in and of itself, and I'm sure many people closely associate Sin with the final boss battle(not Yu Yevon, but Braska's Final Aeon), which is one of the sweetest final boss battles in the FF series. So, in a way, I'm not surprised Sin might've gotten more nominations than Seymoure.

I've seen most matches discussed to death now, and I don't imagine we'll get any resolution on any of them before the contest gets going... but one I've not seen mentioned at all is Lavos / L. Snake. Everyone clearly favours Liquid, but could the sheer popularity of Chrono Trigger make this closer than we expect?

Another point: as someone (I forget who, sorry!) pointed out it's been eight years since FF7 was released... is there any sign Sephiroth has slowed in popularity since last year? What if... he doesn't win? Would Ganondorf have it in the bag?

Just putting it out there for the sake of discussing something different.

Frog is a big fan favorite from Chrono Trigger. Lavos is not a fan favorite; in fact most of Chrono Trigger's fans consider Magus to be a more important and more popular villian that Lavos. so, if Frog could barely beat Liquid, no way is Lavos gonna do it.
