And I'm going to have to join the Seifer camp in this Seifer vs. Kefka discussion. It would shock me to see a villain from a Final Fantasy game < VII beat a villain from a game > VII. We all know where the popularity cutoff is for Final Fantasy games with the casuals, and Kefka missed the boat.

FFVI is -not- in the least bit cult. How could FFVI be cult when it's more popular than FFX? Even CT would only receive 53% against FFVI (and I don't see SFF occuring, either). Why is Kefka so weak? Diablo is ineligible.

I wonder how. The concept of the devil isn't anything Blizzard invented, however their own rendition of it is far different from anything else. Diablo's lore and aspect has been entirely made up by Blizzard, therefore he should be eligible.

Diablo does not equal the devil. As the Lord of Terror, Diablo is just one of the parts that would make up the traditional view of the devil. I think he's eligible.

AFAIK there's nothing official in regards to Pokemon name origins. But Pikachu seems to be based off a "Pika", a mouse-like animal. Does adding "chu" make it enough of an original name?

I highly doubt that nominations would be a problem for Diablo.

Really, I don't see anyone with some level of board support having difficulty making it as long as it's a 64 character field. The group of villains as a whole is just so weak compared to other stuff.

And Diablo has been one of the more visible villains in terms of board discussion.

It's actuallly kind of difficult to translate 'pika' verbatim-- if it's what I think it is, it's almost onomatopoeic for something that flashes.

I think Board 8 would be good to determine his ability to get in, and from what I've seen they haven't been big on nominating him. I doubt that the more casual people would be putting in a nomination on him if a place like board 8 doesn't.

I strongly disagree. Of all PC game villains, Kerrigan notwithstanding, I'd say he's the most likely to get in because the Diablo games are so popular among casuals.
