It very well COULD be 32; this will be a month late, and 64 villains
will be more obscure than 64 characters...but it'll probably go as
normal, and then launch the Summer Contest the same time as he did last
year.

that's very possible, Leon. Ceej has to start this by May 1st,
otherwise it's not much of a Spring Contest. and making it a Spring
Contest instead of a Summer Contest implies that there will also be a
Summer Contest following this one, so two shorter contests is also a
possibility.

I doubt it'd be 32 villains. Besides, the summer isn't until near the
end of June. If this thing starts on May 1st, the majority of the
contest is still in the spring.

I'm curious-- how will CJayC prevent some obvious spoilers from
appearing on the bracket? For example, if Arthas did make it in,

Unfortunately, there's no real practical way to prevent spoilers.
However, in the case of Arthas, the box art for the expansion Frozen
Throne more or less gives it away anyway.

We shouldn't automatically assume Id wouldn't make it. After all,
Xenogears made it into the Game Contest, so, a nomination for Id
wouldn't be a waste. I think MetaKnight could have a chance, too,
