It took me a long time to catch up on what's been going on in this
topic! I usually don't post much here on Gamefaqs, but I was well off
in the Summer2K3 Contest, UNTIL I put trust in Tommy Vercetti....
Learned my lesson. But yeah, I am an OLD SCHOOL gamer. I've been playing games since the Atari 2600. I miss that system. Defender, Pac-Man, E.T. Actually, scratch E.T. That game gave me nightmares... Does anyone on this board remember a game called Berserk? It had this invincible "happy face" that randomly came on the screen and killed you. *shivers* Well, I'll be putting input here and there. I don't really talk much on here. I just wanted to give a shout out to Old School gamers while we are still on the 8-bit era in the contest. I still have my original Nintendo, and I still have the original Final Fantasy. I actually had MOST of the nintendo games at SOME POINT! I don't know and I can't remember, but me and my friends always got a hold of games SOMEHOW... Trading, and whatnot. I never OWNED a Zelda or a Mega Man game on Nintendo, but I had them all and don't know what happened to them. Weird. Anyways, I'm just blabbing.... On to the contest! Since this match is in the bag, I will go on to the next match. Donkey Kong vs. Duck Hunt. I remember when I first got my Nintendo, when was that? Like Christmas 1987? The first games that I owned were Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt and Excitebike. Although Duck Hunt is obscure, EVERYBODY played it at that time. The Zapper Light Gun was CLASSIC! Duck Hunt is officially the ONLY game that my mother has EVER played. The whole block used to be at my house so they could play Duck Hunt. Simple concept, yet loads of fun. Even though Donkey Kong had been out in arcades earlier, it just wasn't as popular a console game as Duck Hunt. I don't know the extent of Duck Hunt's popularity to New School gamers. I still have my Light Gun and Duck Hunt though! I picked Duck Hunt in this match. Snowflake, how old are you? You seem pretty knowledgeable about games not to know about Contra and the Konami Code... --- Atma Weapon, FFVI "FEEBLE CREATURES, GO!!!!" (Go where?) |
