So there's this girl I've been hanging out with for a while now, we're pretty close. She constantly talks about how nice I am and how much she likes me, and I greatly appreciate her company and friendship. Thanks to this and a few other signals it doesn't take me too long to totally fall in love with her. However, she kept sending me mixed messages about the whole thing-some were pretty suggestive like complimenting me on my looks, while at other times she did stuff like compare me to her brother.

Anyway, tonight, when I had almost given up on the whole thing, she invites me to go hang out for a bit and I decide to take her up on it, taking a break from revision. We go walking, wind up wading through a river, and personal questions are asked(she instigated them just so you know). She mocks me playfully about my general(not complete) inexperience with women, saying I should be more forward.

So anyway, we wind up back at the dorms before too long, and chat on her floor before we separate. Now, as we go to do that, we hug and then she kisses me on the cheek(properly, that is). Needless to say, I am slightly flustered by this. Much blushing and girlish giggling ensues, I go to say something. I freeze. She wonders what it is, and I decided to be brave, following my heart and her advice. The following exchange occurs:

"*****... can I be forward?"
"Yeah."

After which I of course kiss her. It was fairly brief and I pulled away before too long, but she reciprocated. Some slightly awkward smiling later, my next words were the very eloquent "...BYE" followed by me making straight for the stairs. I got held up to allow a group of people past and she approached me, saying "I wanna be forward too".

Needless to say there was more kissing, this time a bit more... thorough, with my back even pushed up against the wall, and the whole thing going a bit better on her part than I could have possibly imagined. After a while we break it up and we say we'll see eachother later, I fake post-kiss catatonia in a playful manner, and we finally split up for the night, with me promptly suffering from actual post-kiss catatonia in my room. Now the real killer is...

She has a boyfriend. As a result I held the whole deal off a lot longer than I normally would have, and was so hesitant to do anything tonight, in fact I had half tried to reconcile my feelings with her to find out how she really felt abut me and her boyfriend. She does seem to resent him quite a bit at times and they don't see each other very often or even talk as much as she would like to. I'm very confused about what I should do with this situation. Part of me doesn't want to break up a relationship, part of me wants for her to do whatever makes her happy, and part of me is just thanking... Santa Christ that it went down well with her. Halp would be appreciated.
