Explained!

Well here's the way I see it. Cloud ~= Sephiroth, Link ~= Zelda Series, and Mario ~= Mario Series. So when I see Sephiroth post a nice 56 victory on Mario only one day apart from Link pasting a solid 52 on Cloud, I think the relationship to the current situation is pretty darn strong.

Adjusting a little for Mario's series apparently being a little further ahead of himself than Link and his series, and Cloud being a little stronger than Seph tells me

The Legend of Zelda with 51.67%

Cool poll today. Remember from the post-Top Ten polls that 12.36% have never played Ocarina and 15.50% never touched LttP. So I'm very pleased to see 8.28% saying no to the Zelda series currently; this number being in line with what we saw last year signals to me that 'Nintendo Boost' numbers should still be in effect this Contest. If this number had risen into the 10-13% range, I might have considered buying into HM's "KH2 + AC + whatever else = massive Square influx!" theory.

BUY OR SELL: Zelda being a real threat to Final Fantasy in the finals.

Sell, as much as I don't want this to be true. I think that this match will be like FF7 vs. OoT; Zelda will definitely be respectable but will never be a major threat to beat FF.

But that's just the thing...I don't buy Diablo is fodder, not at all. I still maintain it could probably beat half the field, and while we're going to have to wait until later to confirm my suspicions...I don't think FF is going to let up. FFVII/OoT may very well look like a barnburner when this is said and done.
